I did get this log (edited slightly) from Macaroni which may help isolate the problem. I get the "lost connection" phrase and have to quit Disk Utility, and even Macaroni has problems. That would be good advice, but I still can't repair my Permissions. It worked for me, hope you can find a resolution.ĭon't forget to repair permissions afterwards. I even went to work and launched the Keynote presentation on a Windows PC using Quicktime 7.0.2 and it played instantly and without hiccups. When I uninstalled Quicktime 7.0.4, and reinstalled 7.0.1 then upgraded that to 7.0.3, Front Row no longer displayed jerky menu animation, Keynote played instantly and smoothly and I was able to watch that HD Movie Trailer downloaded from the Quicktime website without any problems, just like before I upgraded the OS and Quicktime player. I as well, waited over 30 seconds for it to load and when it finally played, the video kept freezing. Everything from Front Row's Menu animating with Jerky movement to me also not being able to watch the Keynote video quickly and smootly. Overall, the entire video playing experience deteriorated on my iMac. It was watching High Definition Movie Trailers downloaded from the Quicktime Web Site using Quicktime Player 7.0.4 & Mac OS X 10.4.4 in combination.
